Bracken Control Group

I appreciate that many people will be wanting to plan their bracken control programmes and to do this will need to know whether or not asulam will be available this year.

I am keeping in close contact with the regulators and a decision will be published shortly.  As soon as I have any information I can pass on, I will circulate details in a newsletter.  If not already signed up to receive these, you can do this on the News page of this website.

I am sorry that it has not been possible to provide details about the availability of asulam before now.  Defra has agreed to consider the possibility of adopting a revised process in the future.  My hope is that this would remove this brinkmanship each year and provide a more certain future for asulam that will allow longer term planning to take place.
